You should keep the umbrella handy for the next couple of days - ABC11 Meteorologist Don "Big Weather" Schwenneker says an approaching storm will bring steady, heavier rain and even a thunderstorm Friday night into Saturday morning.

The SPC keeps the risk for severe weather off to the south and east on Saturday. Biggest threats would come from high winds.

"A cool, moist northeast flow ahead of a storm to the south will bring clouds and occasional rain and drizzle today," Schwenneker said. "Temperatures will stay in the 60s."

"With any luck, the storm will move away fast enough to allow dry weather, and the return of some sunshine Saturday afternoon, bit don't count on that just yet," Schwenneker added.

There will be breaks of sunshine Sunday and although a shower cannot be completely ruled out, most of the day will be dry.

A big area of high pressure stretches across most of the country (east of the Rockies) next week. The result for us will be increasing warmth and more sunshine Monday through Wednesday.
