Kenyatta Lamar Spencer, 42, spoke in court Monday.

WAKE FOREST, North Carolina (WTVD) -- A Wake Forest youth basketball coach faces three charges of sexual misconduct with a 16-year-old victim. According to court documents, the 42-year-old Kenyatta Lamar Spencer touched the teen's breasts.

The reported allegations happened on July 20.

Spencer was a part-time assistant basketball coach for Trinity Academy in 2014, according to a spokeswoman for the Christian school.

The spokeswoman said Spencer has been employed with the Wake County Basketball Association since March 2015.

She also said the alleged victim was not a student at Trinity and the alleged assault did not take place on school property.

The school said it planned to hire Spencer to be the Junior Varsity basketball coach for the 2017 season, which will begin next month, but after the arrest, Spencer is banned from school property and from coaching at Trinity indefinitely.

"Dr. Robert Littlejohn, head of Trinity Academy, has informed all Trinity staff and families receiving private coaching from Spencer independent of the school's actions," the spokesperson said.
