Wilson mother was stabbed 24 times

WILSON, NC (WTVD) -- A young mother found dead in Wilson earlier this year was stabbed 24 times according to an autopsy report released Monday.

The official examination of 22-year-old Courtney Rea lists dozens of wounds to the head, neck and abdomen.

Rea died January 23 at a home on Mercer Street.

Authorities later arrested Eric Devon Hooker and charged him with first-degree murder.

Hooker is the father of Rea's youngest child.
