Motorcyclist killed after slamming into tree in Johnston County

ZEBULON, N.C. (WTVD) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Johnston County Sunday afternoon.

The State Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Derrick Wiggins died when his bike slammed into a tree, after veering off of Creech Johnson Road in Zebulon.

Troopers say speed is not a factor. The investigation is ongoing.
