Dr. Robert Rich, Chief Medical Officer, UnitedHealthcare Community & State Plans of NC

Dr. Robert Rich graduated in 1979 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Biology. He completed his medical education at the Bowman Gray/Wake Forest School of Medicine in 1984 and a family medicine residency at the East Carolina/Brody School of Medicine. Since his time in private practice, he has been a part-time member of Bladen Medical Associates, serving as Per Diem Chief Medical Officer for UnitedHealthcare North Carolina, focusing on their Dual Special Needs Population in eastern North Carolina. Dr. Rich is actively involved in family physician organizations and is passionate about rural medicine, medical management, quality improvement, opioid prescribing/pain management, and advocating for family medicine.
