Tune in to ABC11 for this segment on May 11, 2022, with Dr. Derrick J. Hoover MD, FAAFP, Medical Director for UnitedHealthcare's Community Plan of North Carolina.

Derrick J. Hoover MD, FAAFP

Derrick J. Hoover MD, FAAFP, serves as Medical Director for UnitedHealthcare's Community Plan of North Carolina. Dr. Hoover is a Family Physician with an extensive background in various clinical settings. Dr. Hoover moved to Raleigh NC in 2016 to lead a Healthcare for the Homeless program at an FQHC where he also served as Associate Medical Director. He then worked at Duke University Health System prior to joining UnitedHealthcare in 2021. Dr. Hoover is passionate about reducing health disparities and preventable suffering in vulnerable populations. He is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine and a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar. In his spare time, Dr. Hoover enjoys spending time with family, the beach, fishing, and traveling.
