Driver seriously injured in crash near Wake Tech

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- The State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious crash near Wake Tech.

It happened just after 6 p.m. on U.S. Highway 401.

Troopers told ABC11 that the driver of a Jeep Cherokee crashed into a light pole after trying to change lanes to avoid stopping at a traffic light.

The unidentified driver was taken to WakeMed with life-threatening injuries.

No one else was hurt.
