No-show bus ruins woman's weekend trip
Christy and her friends planned a big weekend in New York City

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- You plan a getaway, but what happens when the transportation you pay for doesn't show? That's what Christy Capps says happened to her during a girls' trip to New York City.

"We were going to leave at 12:15 a.m. in Raleigh on Capital Boulevard and we were going to get to New York at 9:00 a.m.," Christy said.

Christy paid $350 for five tickets on GoToBus.com with ABC Bus Tours. Christy, along with her friends, had big plans for the Big Apple, but after waiting until 3:00 a.m. for the bus, they grew worried.

"Finally I got a phone call from a no-call ID number saying the bus wasn't coming," she said.

The trip was ruined, but the company claimed she would receive a full refund. After weeks of waiting, the refund never came.

"I want my money back and an apology," Christy said.

So Christy reached out to me and I got in contact with GoToBus.com. First, a rep said the bus came and that Christy and her friends were a no show. But then the rep said they would issue a credit with ABC Bus Tours.

Christy didn't want a credit, so Go To Bus Tours gave her a full refund.

The best advice, do your research before using any travel company. A quick search of GoToBus.com and the company has 97 complaints filed in the last three years, many have to do with buses not showing.
