Fayetteville car wash reopens after owner's beating death

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WTVD) -- The Fayetteville business known as the Jesus car wash reopened Monday morning.

Customers returned to First Place Auto Wash and Detail Shop on Eastern Boulevard after the business' owner Michael Mansfield was murdered outside a sports bar last week.

According to Fayetteville police, Mansfield was beaten to death just down the street from his business while at "301 Wingz" on Sept 4th.

Authorities arrested 37-year-old Hubert Underwood and 26-year-old Steven Rosser and charged them with first-degree murder in connection with the 52-year-old's death.

Mansfield used his car wash as a way to help people trying to recover from addiction and rebuild their lives.
