RALEIGH (WTVD) -- There are new developments in the terrifying kidnapping and attempted robbery of a Wake County McDonald's worker.

Raleigh police have released the 911 call her family member made when they started fearing the worst.

Dispatcher: "911, what is the location of your emergency?"

Caller: "I live with a family member, and she pulled up here at 12:37, and she texted another family member that she was outside. Then all of the sudden her car pulled off."

It happened July 2 when police say a Raleigh woman came home from work at a McDonald's in Holly Springs.

When she pulled up to her apartment, a masked gunman forced her back into her car.

What loved ones didn't know at the time was that the man forced the woman to drive back to McDonald's and that's why she wasn't picking up her phone.

911 Caller: "She has never done this before. She has always just come home and this is the first time she has never not answered the phone for us."

When the masked man and his victim arrived at the McDonald's in Holly Springs, he bolted out of the car and she sped off, but the gunman fired at her and hit her in the hand and leg.

She managed to drive herself to the hospital, and she's now recovering.

Raleigh police are offering a reward for any information that leads to an arrest of that masked gunman.

The victim's father believes there is someone out there who knows something and needs the reward money.

"Somebody always knows something," James Fowler told Eyewitness News. "You heard something in a barber shop, or you had some pillow talk just come forward with whatever you know. Every little bit helps, you know. Might not seem, might seem minute to you but it may help be the deal breaker, crack the case open."

The number to call is (919) 996-1051.
