FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Fayetteville police are looking for answers after a weekend of violence left one person dead and sent two others to the hospital.
As of Monday night, investigators had not identified any suspects in the weekend shootings, but identified the man killed in one of the shootings as 21-year-old Daniel Morrison.
Morrison died at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Saturday afternoon.
According to police, Morrison was a passenger in a car driven by another man. The driver stopped to pick-up another passenger, who police say then tried to rob the men and shot Morrison.
The driver drove Morrison to the emergency room, where he later died of his injuries.
In the second reported incident, two men were wounded early Sunday morning by a drive-by gunman.
Authorities say the car was hit while driving along Murchison Road around 3 a.m. Sunday.
Two men in the car, Mitchell Bridges and Kabron Gunther, were both wounded. Police say their injuries were not life threatening.
Investigators say the two incidents are not related, but they have little information on suspects in both incidents.
Police are asking for the community's help with the two investigations.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 237-8553 or Crimestoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
