Gunman sought in Raleigh hotel shooting

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Authorities in Raleigh are searching for the alleged gunman who shot a man in the back at a hotel Monday morning.

It happened around 9 a.m. at the Knights Inn hotel in the 3800 block on New Bern Avenue.

Police tell ABC11 that a "lone male suspect" shot a man, took his money, and then fled the scene in a blue BMW or Volvo.

Witnesses who called 911 reported hearing the shot.

"I was in the office, so I went outside to get a drink, and I just heard a gunshot, and so I looked down, and I saw people running," said a caller.
