ROXBORO, NC (WTVD) -- The Person County Sheriff's Office says two men got into an argument after brushing against each other in the Shifters Sports Bar west of Roxboro and one pulled out a gun and shot the other.

Deputies said it happened Saturday night at the bar on Semora Road (Hwy 57).

Melvin "Brent" Adcock, 44, of Person County was killed.

The sheriff's office has charged 60-year-old Joseph Clyde James of Roxboro with first-degree murder. James is a convicted felon and should not have had a gun.

Deputies searched his home and found more guns. Drug charges are also pending.

He was being held without bond in the Person County jail.
