Sheriff announces person of interest in mobile home murder

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department has identified a man wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of 51-year-old Anthony Charles Williams.

Brandon Baldwin, 28, is considered a 'person of interest' in the homicide investigation, deputies said. He is listed as living in Hope Mills, but deputies said he is also known to frequent Robeson and Columbus counties.

Sheriff's deputies say Williams was found shot to death in the backyard of his mobile home in the 3600 block of Pickerel Street, south of Fayetteville Tuesday afternoon.

Homicide investigators said Williams was staying in the mobile home even though he had another listed address.

Baldwin is also wanted out of Columbus County for assault on a female and assault with a deadly weapon, authorities said.
