CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- North Carolina says guard Cameron Johnson will be out 4-6 weeks after having surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Team spokesman Steve Kirschner says Johnson was having the procedure Wednesday and that the Tar Heels would provide more details after the surgery was completed. The ninth-ranked Tar Heels (1-0) are playing Bucknell Wednesday night.

Johnson is a graduate transfer from Pittsburgh who missed the opener against Northern Iowa with a sprained neck.

Coach Roy Williams says he's "extremely disappointed" for Johnson.

North Carolina also won't have guard Brandon Robinson, who sprained his right shoulder against Northern Iowa.

Joel Berry will play Wednesday vs. Bucknell.
