ABC11 has learned that Pescaro is from Apex and graduated from Middle Creek High School in 2017. He was a cornerback for the football team in 2015 and 2016.

"It's not only a miracle...We're very shocked because these are our kids and the fact that anyone gets shot, just the word 'shot' is so shocking," Pescaro's neighbor in Apex, Lisa Desimone, told ABC11. "And then to hear that maybe it was more than once. And thank God he's okay. When I think of being shot, I think like you're gone. That's it. And so we couldn't be happier."

According to his LinkedIn, Pescaro planned to work for the UNC Charlotte Football team in the spring of 2019. Pescaro is a sports writer for the student-run newspaper the Niner Times.
