We're thrilled to bring you a new and improved local news experience with the launch of the redesigned ABC11.com. Check out the video above for a quick tour of the new features, or read on for more details.
Why the change?
We know that more and more of you are getting your news on phones and tablets, so we designed a site that showcases stories and connects with you on any device you use. So whether you are at your desk or on the go, you'll be able to discover the news that's important to you, easily and quickly.
What's different?
- It's cleaner and easier to readThe design of our new website is responsive, which means the layout will change to fit whatever screen you're using - computer, tablet, or phone. No more pinching and zooming to read a story when you're on the move!
- Even stronger local focusThis is a really great and innovative new addition. The Map My News feature places all our stories on an interactive map, so you can easily see what's happening near you. You'll also see tweets from reporters on the scene of breaking news.Click below to see all that Map My News can do:
- Easier access to weather
You'll never again have to wonder about the forecast, because it's right at the top of every page on the site. You can even set it to reflect your specific location - just click or tap "Edit" and enter your zip code. Click or tap anywhere else on the forecast to get to our full weather section, with interactive radar maps, videos, photos, and more.
- The traffic information you need
Click or tap on the traffic icon at the top of any page to see the latest conditions on the roads. You can also sign up for traffic alerts specific to the routes you travel and the time of day you're usually on the road, and you'll get an alert if there's a problem along your route.
- Richer multimedia experience
With the new ABC11.com, you'll see more videos and photos to help bring stories to life. And our slideshows are greatly improved - scroll through the great collection of viewer photos below, or tap the arrows in the top right corner to take it full screen. - More live video coverage
As always, ABC11 is keeping you connected to what's happening right now. Look for the "Live Video" module on our homepage or bookmark abc11.com/live, and you'll never miss a live newscast again. We'll also offer live streaming coverage of trials and other events that can be viewed on any device.
