Toledo's oldest cold case solved

Police have made an arrest in Toledo's oldest cold case. About 40 years after a teenager was killed Toledo police arrest the man who did it. After two years of searching, Toledo police have located and charged Robert Bowman for the 1967 murder of 14-year-old Eileen Adams.

Police arrested Bowman yesterday in Cathedral City California. After a nationwide manhunt for a homeless man, multiple appearances on America's Most Wanted and more than 400 tips, Brown is behind bars.

Back in 1967 Eileen Adams was last seen getting off a school bus after leaving Central Catholic High School. Police say she was abducted, held hostage, sexually assaulted and later murdered by Bowman. Her body was found six weeks later in a field in Monroe County Michigan and the murder went unsolved.

In 2006 police reopened the case and new technology led to a break. The next step, Toledo police detectives are flying to Cathedral City California today to question Bowman who is now in his seventies.

An extradition hearing will follow to bring Bowman back to Lucas County where he will face judge in the second oldest DNA cold case in the state of Ohio.
