Page 5 is the first really important page in the guide. It tells you what information you'll need to file you're claim. Read it through and you're ready to create an account.
Pages 6 through 13 will show you how to do that. Click Create a new account. Then you have to agree to the release of information statement.
Next, click Register to file your claims online and enter the information, including your name and social security number. You're going to get a temporary pin. Write it down and click on the login screen.
On this screen you'll enter you're SSN and temporary pin. This will take you to another screen where you're told to enter a permanent pin number. Make sure it's one you can remember
Now you're registered. We're 14 pages into the guide and we're talking about the unemployment benefits main menu. There's a lot to page 14 but for our purposes click on File a new claim for unemployment benefits.
Now it's time to enter your personal information. Page 17 walks you through that. Fill in the boxes and click Next.
Pages 20 through 23 are very important. These walk you through answering questions about your eligibility for unemployment compensation. Make sure to read the pages that explain each question.
Pages 24 through 29 apply to filing information about dependents like spouses and children and child support payments.You'll want to read them if you need to.
But page 30, everyone should read. It walks you through reporting your reason for unemployment. There are definitions for different types of job loss.
Then pages 31 to 48 show you how to list the different jobs you've had. Notice there are different pages for military jobs, federal jobs, and out-of-state jobs too. Pay special attention to pages 44 and 45. They tell you how to find information about employers in case you don't have all the required information about you're previous job.
Now we're to page 49 and we're almost done. This is a required page called job matching. You'll have to fill in two occupations in which you'd like to work.
Pages 50 and 51 talk about setting up direct deposit payments. And page 52 is about the certification page. Once you've certified your claim. You're done.
