CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Residents in a prominent Cary neighborhood are being told to keep their eyes open and their doors locked after recent crimes.
In the last few days, at least two incidents have been reported in the Preston community, not far from where several car break-ins have been reported in Morrisville.
The first incident happened on Sunday night. A woman said she heard someone kick her back door, but didn't know what it was until they did it again. She said amazingly, the glass did not break, so she turned on the light, which prompted the suspect or suspects to run off.
Then early Wednesday morning, a homeowner told police that someone broke into their home and took a wallet and cash before fleeing.
Cary and Morrisville police are warning owners to stay vigilant and lock their doors. Since Oct. 30, Morrisville police have received at least 30 reports of car break-ins.
