CHAPEL HILL (WTVD) -- A judge ordered two additional suspects in the Christmas Day shooting of 1-year-old Maleah Williams held without bail Tuesday.

Ramone Jamarr Alston, 22, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force on Monday afternoon. Alston is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting.

A second suspect, Pierre Je Bron Moore, 23, was arrested after surrendering at the Chapel Hill Police Department. Moore was also charged with first-degree murder.

Maleah Williams died at UNC Children's Hospital Monday, two days after the shooting outside her godparents' apartment in the 700 block of Trinity Court in Chapel Hill.

"I was sick to my stomach," said Laurunda Craig, a close family friend. "It's painful and it's hurtful and it's sad that she had to lose her life to an act of violence over somebody else's problems. And it's just very hard to deal with for me. And I know it's hard for her parents as well."

As for Maleah's mother, Tylena Williams, Craig said, "It's a day by day thing with her. One minute she's ok, the next she's not. I know it hurts her so bad and it's going to take a while for her to get adjusted."

Police charged 22-year-old Shaquille Oneill Davis with attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon soon after the shooting. Those charges will likely be upgraded.

Davis appeared before a judge Monday where his bail was held at $650,000. His next court date was set for January 4th.

Davis was captured soon after Maleah's mother called on him to turn himself in.

Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall says he may still change the charges against Davis.

"A lot of information has come in since the first suspect was arrested," Woodall said. "It's been very fluid. We're evaluating the information now. Information doesn't always turn out to be evidence, so we've got a much better understanding of where we stand now. The first defendant, Shaquille Davis, his charges could be changed. They could be upgraded but we're not in a position to do that at this time."

Craig says she and other friends of Maleah's family will be pushing for the death penalty for anyone involved.

"They need to suffer, just like Maleah did. Because they should have thought about what they did before they done it. I think that they need to rot. They need to rot and they need to get the death penalty, capital murder, because that baby did not deserve it. I want the highest penalty they can get and we're going to fight for that."

Woodall said it's far too early to talk about sentencing.
