Coast Guard pulls man to safety out of sinking yacht

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Coast Guard rescued a 59-year-old man from a sinking boat on Saturday.

Authorities said they received a distress call around 9:37 a.m. while on patrol. A 60-foot yacht was reportedly taking on water with one man aboard after it got stuck on a rock jetty.

Just after 9:40 a.m. the Coast Guard was able to get the man off the yacht with no injuries.

Officials said the yacht sank.
