Building evacuated at East Cary Middle School after carbon monoxide leak
Multiple ambulances responded to the school after the gas leak was reported.

CARY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Town of Cary officials say a building at East Cary Middle School at 1111 SE Maynard Rd. was evacuated Thursday afternoon because of a reported carbon monoxide leak.

Seventeen people - including 10 children and seven adults - were evaluated by emergency workers in multiple ambulances at the scene.

Three adults were taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the leak was under investigation.
