Child hit by a car in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- An 11-year-old girl suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car Friday.

It happened just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of McArthur and Honeycutt Roads.

Police say the girl was not in the crosswalk when she was hit.

She was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Right now, there are no plans to charge the driver.

Police are working to figure out why the girl was in the middle of the road.
