FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- An 18-year-old is behind bars accused of first-degree murder 24-hours after a deadly shooting in Fayetteville.

Fayetteville Police Department said Jeavon McCoy, 18, was the person who shot and killed Joseph Walton, 37, on Monday afternoon.

The shooting happened on Schmidt Street.

Investigators released pictures of two persons of interest on Monday. They said McCoy was one of those people, but the second person remains unidentified.

Fayetteville officers would still like to identify and talk to the second person of interest. They believe he could have more information about the case.

Meanwhile, McCoy was booked into the Cumberland County Jail. He's being held there without bond.
