Hoke County woman charged after three shot at in car
RED SPRINGS, NC (WTVD) -- Hoke County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of a triple shooting Wednesday in the 300 Block of Windlock Drive in Red Springs.
The three victims had traveled to the suspect's residence to return vehicle keys to the suspect's vehicle, the sheriff's office said. An argument broke out and the suspect grabbed a firearm and shot into the victims' vehicle.
Kendrick Chavis was shot in the arm and was taken to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. The other occupants of the vehicle, Martilary McGirt and Lisa Locklear sustained minor injuries.
The suspect, Demetria Jacobs Locklear, confessed to the shooting, the sheriff's office said. She was arrested and charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.
Locklear is being held under a $75,000 bond.
