DURHAM (WTVD) -- A Durham mother was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday in the fatal shooting of her 9-year-old son.
Amy Pittman, 38, is charged with one count of voluntary manslaughter, three counts of felony child abuse - gross negligence, three counts of misdemeanor child abuse, three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and one count of failure to store firearms to protect minors.
Christian Pittman was shot accidentally when he and his brother were playing with a gun April 28 at a home on Macon Street.
Three children were in the home at the time of the shooting. Amy Pittman was not home.
Durham police said she was arrested Wednesday morning on Rock Street.
