BLADENBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- The United States Attorney's Office announced Thursday that the Justice Department has closed the investigation into the death of 17-year-old Lennon Lacy in 2014, saying it found no evidence to suggest that Lacy's death was a homicide.
The teen was found hanging from a Bladenboro swing set on Aug. 29, 2014. Lacy's feet were suspended two inches off the ground.
The state medical examiner ruled that the boy killed himself, but Lacy's mother called the ruling into question. The NC NAACP also called for more investigation.
