Man hit, killed by train in Burlington

BURLINGTON, N.C. (WTVD) -- An Amtrak train bound for the Triangle hit and killed a pedestrian in Burlington Thursday afternoon.

The Northern Piedmont train carrying 69 passengers hit 27-year-old Justin Lamar Swanson just after 2 p.m.

Police are investigating the incident.

The train continued on its trip about 90 minutes later.
