Three Camp Lejeune Marines killed in Afghanistan

CAMP LEJEUNE, NC (WTVD) -- The Pentagon has identified three young Camp Lejuene Marines killed Friday by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan.

They are: Staff Sgt. David H. Stewart, 34, of Stafford, Virginia. Lance Cpl. Brandon J. Garabrant, 19, of Peterborough, New Hampshire. And, Lance Cpl. Adam F. Wolff, 25, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

All were assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force.

Gov. Pat McCrory issued the following statement about the deaths of three Marines.

"Once again we are reminded of the high price of freedom, a price paid with the lives of Staff Sergeant David H. Stewart and Lance Corporals Brandon J. Garabrant and Adam F. Wolff of the 2nd Marine Division," said Governor McCrory. "Not only do our hearts and prayers go out to their family members and the men and women of Camp Lejeune, but our eternal gratitude as well."
