Wake County juvenile escapes after court hearing

RALEIGH (WTVD) -- Authorities searching for a teen who escaped Monday after a hearing in Raleigh.

The juvenile, identified as "Calvin R." of Wake County, somehow disappeared about 4 p.m. following a hearing at the Wake County Courthouse. He was last seen near West Cabarrus and McDowell streets in downtown Raleigh.

Officials are concerned for his safety and the public's safety because of his previous history of unpredictable behavior.

The teen had been in the custody of the Wake Regional Juvenile Detention Center. Authorities ask the public to report any sightings to a local law enforcement agency.
