Wake Forest police investigate shooting

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- Wake Forest police officers responded to a shooting call in the 300 block of West Chestnut Avenue Thursday evening.

It happened around 7:30 p.m.

Officers found an adult male at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. Police later confirmed the shooting was self-inflicted.

The victim was taken to WakeMed. The extent of his injuries is unknown at last report.
