2 charged with attempted robbery in Rocky Mount

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WTVD) -- Rocky Mount Police are investigating after a man was shot during a robbery attempt early Wednesday.

Officers responded around 2:10 a.m. to the 800 block of W. Raleigh Boulevard after reports that shots were fired in the area.

When they arrived, they spoke to a man who said he fired his gun after another man tried to rob him. The victim had non-life-threatening lacerations and was treated at the scene by EMS.

While responding to the call, other officers saw the suspect vehicle fleeing the area. Police pulled the car over, and two men inside, Risheen Robinson, 34, and Aubrey Hill Jr., 23, both of Rocky Mount, were detained.

Hill had been hit by gunfire and had what was described as a non-life-threatening wound. He was taken to UNC Nash Health for treatment and later discharged.

AS a result of the investigation, Hill and Robinson were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Hill and Robinson were taken to the Nash County Jail and held without bond.
