WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- The former treasurer of Wake Forest Elementary PTA was charged with embezzlement, Wake Forest Police said Wednesday.
Anna-Marie Ethridge, of the 800 block of Richland Ridge Drive, was charged with one count of embezzlement of funds by public officers and trustees.
Ethridge, 56, is accused of misappropriating $32,635.42 of PTA money, police said.

Wake Forest Police began investigating after getting a tip on Nov. 6, which led to the charges filed Wednesday.
She turned herself in to the Wake County Sheriff's Office earlier Wednesday and was given a $15,000 unsecured bond.
