Cumberland County man killed in overnight motorcycle crash

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A man died in a motorcycle crash overnight, Fayetteville Police said Sunday.

Officers responded to a crash just after 3 a.m. at Person Street and Old Wilmington Road. Investigators said a motorcycle was going east on Person Street when it hit the traffic circle at Old Wilmington Road.

The motorcycle operator, Jackson Corum, 21, of Spring Lake, was rushed to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center but died from his injuries.

A 20-year-old female passenger on Corum's 2011 Honda escaped with minor injuries, police said.

The crash remains under active investigation.
