Critical incident under investigation in downtown Wilson, public asked to avoid area

WILSON, N.C. (WTVD) -- The Wilson Police Department is investigating a critical incident the downtown area.

According to a post on the department's Facebook page, people are being asked to avoid the area at this time.

The post says there is 'no threat to the public and there will be heavy police presence."

No other details have been released.
