
DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- Durham police said Tuesday that a 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left two teenagers injured during a high school graduation party back in June.
It happened June 16 when multiple people were gathered in the front yard of a home in the 3200 block of Fayetteville Street. Just before midnight, someone opened fire at the front of the home, which led to people scattering.
Officers were called and found a 17-year-old boy shot in the leg. A 17-year-old girl who suffered a graze wound was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.
Both victims were expected to recover.
Ricario Purefoy of Durham. was charged with three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, discharging a weapon into occupied property, felony conspiracy, injury to real property, going armed to the terror of the people, possession with intent to sell/distribute marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute a schedule v controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

DPD said the incident remains under investigation and detectives are still looking for witnesses, victims, and additional suspects related to this case.
