Goldsboro man killed in hit-and-run on U.S. 70

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Goldsboro man was killed after being struck by a vehicle, authorities said.

Goldsboro police, along with firefighters and Wayne County EMS, responded about 9:43 a.m. Friday to a report of an unresponsive person in the median of the 800 block of U.S. 70. The man, identified as Ernest Lee Martin of Goldsboro, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said Martin was hit by a vehicle Thursday evening or during the overnight hours. The driver did not stop to render aid or notify authorities.
