FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Fayetteville man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting earlier this month has turned himself in, police said.

Authorities said Jordan Chancellor Whipple, 33, turned himself in to the Fayetteville Police Department on Friday. Whipple had been wanted in the shooting death of Tony Chance, which happened along the 700 block of Blue Street on March 9.

Police said Whipple has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. He is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under no bond.

Earlier this month, detectives with the department's Homicide Unit obtained arrest warrants for Whipple and asked the public for help locating him. At the time, investigators said he was considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about the homicide of Tony Chance is asked to contact Detective C. Johnson at (910) 5846703.
