FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A tragic crash in Fayetteville claimed the life of a Fort Bragg soldier on Friday afternoon.
The incident, which involved several vehicles and a motorcycle, happened just before 1 p.m. on Yadkin Road at Cimarron Drive, shutting down all lanes for hours.
Investigators say 20-year-old Aaron Isaiah Aguero, an active-duty soldier stationed at Fort Bragg, was riding his motorcycle on Yadkin Road toward Lake Valley Drive. While attempting to pass vehicles in the center turn lane, he encountered a Ford truck turning left onto Cimarron Drive.
Authorities reported that Aguero swerved into oncoming traffic but collided with the left rear of the truck. The impact threw him from the motorcycle, and he was struck by a third vehicle traveling on Yadkin Road toward Santa Fe Drive.
Aguero was pronounced dead at the scene.
