Longtime downtown Raleigh restaurant asks for public's help amid construction
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A longtime downtown Raleigh business is asking for the community's help to keep its doors open amid construction woes.
The owner of Vic's Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria took to social media to alert the public that the restaurant is open despite ongoing construction happening in City Market.
Blake Street is closed because of work on a water line, and Vic's says the business is taking a big hit from the construction.
It is asking the public to swing by and help the 30-year-old restaurant keep its doors open.
"They've got to do something about it to get people back in downtown Raleigh because there's construction everywhere, and that's good that they're doing that, but all at one time?" said Vic's owner Mario Longo, "Downtown is feeling it, you know, especially a small business like us."
Longo wants people to know that the parking lot behind Vic's along Person Street is open for customers.
The City of Raleigh told ABC11 that the work on Blake Street is expected to wrap up this week.
