
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- One person was taken to the hospital after police said he was shot by a person asking for a ride in his car.
Raleigh police said the incident happened just after 2:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Keeter Center Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot in the abdomen.
Police said an investigation found that the man was sitting in his car when he was approached by a person who asked for a ride. When he declined, officers said the suspect pulled out a gun, and a struggle began. During the struggle, the man was shot in the abdomen.
Officers said the man then walked to the Oak City Cares on Wilmington Street for help. He was taken to WakeMed for his injuries.
Authorities are looking for the suspect in the shooting.
