ROXBORO, N.C. (WTVD) -- It was a special day for children in Person County.
On Sunday, the Steelhorse Strangers Motorcycle Club held its annual toy drive.
The group collected toys and Christmas gifts for families in Roxboro. Hundreds of bikers delivered the toys.
"Well, we're here collecting toys and monetary donations that will all go to Santa's Helpers here in Person County," said Jarrett Shotwell, the president of Steelhorse Strangers MC.

Santa's Helpers of Person County is a nonprofit organization that works to provide Christmas gifts for less fortunate children.
"Because of their efforts, we are now able to help more families and more children," said Robin Simpson, the president of Santa's Helpers.
Erin Shotwell, the secretary for Steelhorse Strangers MC, said the initiative started 16 years ago when her son died on a playground at a local school.
Jarrett Shotwell said the tragic death happened during the holiday season and made Christmas "a sad time for us."
The Shotwells wanted to do something in their son's honor to "bring the joy back to Christmas."
"There's a lot of emotions, but he's here, and he lives," said Erin Shotwell. "The other kids are still getting Christmas because of my son, and that's what makes such a big difference to me."
