Police ID motorcyclist killed in crash on Fuquay-Varina road

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WTVD) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a pickup on Tuesday afternoon in Fuquay-Varina.

It happened just before 4 p.m. in the 400 block of Coley Farm Road. The road was closed for hours while the investigation unfolded.

On Wednesday, Fuquay-Varina Police identified the victim as River Jackson, 20, of Fuquay-Varina.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of River Jackson during this difficult time," a spokesperson said.

A pickup with front-end damage remained at the scene.

This crash remains under active investigation.
