
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- A motorcyclist died Wednesday night after a pickup turned into his path on King Road, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.
Officers responded to the crash shortly before 9:15 p.m. at King Road and Windfall Lane. Investigators said a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Dale Bradley White, 62, of Fayetteville, made a left turn and collided with a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, Daniel Zachery Vanherpen, 38, of Hope Mills, was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where police said he died from his injuries.
White has been charged with unsafe movement causing serious injury to a motorcyclist, and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. He was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $275,000 secured bond.
The department's Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.
