RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- Jibreel Haseeb's connection to Raleigh-based Jinsa Essentials is a family legacy.
His father founded the company, then known as Jinsa Fragrances, in 1985. 'Jinsa' is a Semitic word for gender or national origin.
For Haseeb, it is more than a business -- it is his father's legacy.
"I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my dad," he said.
His father, facing sensitive skin, started handcrafting hair and body products at a time when such options were limited. After sharing them with friends, he recognized a growing need.
The brand soon became renowned for its high-quality fragrance and essential oils.
In 2001, the company expanded into natural bath and body products using ingredients like shea butter and other organic butters, rebranding as Jinsa Essentials.
Their offerings -- waterless lotions, oil sprays, cleansers, and serums -- are crafted with thoughtful, all-natural ingredients free of synthetics, chemicals, and alcohol.
"Everything we do is all natural. No synthetics, no chemicals, no alcoholic ingredients in anything that we do," Haseeb said.
Haseeb takes joy in providing natural products and serving his community.
"When I first got started, there were people coming up saying they've been using the product for 10 to 20 years...it blew my mind," he said. "And now I've been able to do the same thing being a part of the business for the last 15 years."
