Southern Supreme Fruitcake shares its recipe for 40 years of success in North Carolina

BEAR CREEK, N.C. (WTVD) -- It's not quite Christmas time, but soon all the holiday baked goods will be tempting us once again when we visit family and friends.

Of course, one of those delights is fruitcakes, and one North Carolina company has been creating them for over 40 years.

Southern Supreme Fruitcake began with a beautician who made fruitcakes for family and friends.

And then, one day, she just stopped fixing hair and started making fruitcakes full-time.

To fill all the orders from around the world, the company starts cooking in early September and goes all the way until Christmas.

"To be made in North Carolina means a lot to us," said Randy Scott.
