1920s: Some women sported Jazz Age-style hair, but they kept their makeup light, a mix between indigenous and American styles.
1930s: Hollywood-insipired makeup permated through large cities in the Philippines. An early version of beauty pageants became popular.

1950s: The ''blushing girl'' look seen on actresses in movies was popularized. It featured heavy makeup to cover ''imperfections.''
1960s: American influence led to women lightening their skin. Hair was well-sculpted with lots of shine.
1970s: Thick eyebrows and strong cheekbones were popular, along with a varitey of updos. This reflected both Western influence and native pride.
1980s: It was all about the bangs and the colorful makeup.
1990s: Makeup becomes more subtle in favor of a natural look, and the zig-zag part is popularized. Skin-whitening is still prevelant.
2000s: K-Pop brings about pouty lips and makeup that makes the eyes pop. Side-parts are also big.
2010s: Hair is all about volume and sheen. Skin whitening becomes less popular as the natural look begins to be celebrated again.
