Raleigh man faces 10 years for bringing machine gun to parking lot near state fair

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Raleigh man faces up to 10 years in prison after police say he brought a machine gun to a parking lot near the State Fair and Lenovo Center.

According to the Department of Justice, officers saw Luis Alberto Guerra-Martinez driving erratically in the parking lot. As he exited his vehicle, law enforcement detected the odor of marijuana. Guerra-Martinez attempted to run away as officers approached.

A search of his car revealed multiple weapons, including five guns and a machete.

Guerra-Martinez pleaded guilty to the charges.
