Ruptured gas line in Wake Forest closes part of South Main Street, officials say

WAKE FOREST, N.C. (WTVD) -- Part of a road in closed after a ruptured gas line Wednesday morning in Wake Forest.

Authorities responded to the gas leak along South Main Street/US 1A between Cimarron Parkway and Friendship Chapel Road. The cause of the rupture is not known.

Traffic is blocked in the area, and Drivers should avoid this area and seek alternate routes. Officials are monitoring the area for safety, but no evacuations have been ordered.

Enbridge Gas crews are working to seal the leak, though no timeline for reopening the road.
